Density relates to the amount of material in the foam, while firmness describes how the foam feels under compression. Two foams can feel similar initially yet have different densities and intended uses.

Choosing flexible pu foam for commercial requirements
Flexible polyurethane foam is used to build comfort, support and shape in upholstered furniture and mattresses. Density, firmness and thickness describe different aspects of foam, so choosing only by one number can produce an unsuitable result. Seat design, user load, layer construction and expected service conditions all matter.
We distribute Relaxwell PU foam in Bengaluru for furniture production, seating and mattress work. Our regular stock programme includes Lotus grade, Super Soft, Cosmos and High Resilience (HR) foam in selected densities and thicknesses.
For premium comfort requirements, Ion-X, AirMax and AirMax+ can be arranged against confirmed orders. Relaxwell describes Ion-X as a super-soft open-cell foam, while AirMax uses a high-resilience open-cell structure for support and breathability. A practical buying checklist
Design the complete cushion
Comfort depends on foam thickness, seat base, cover tension, cushion shape and whether multiple layers are combined. Evaluate the complete cushion construction rather than judging an isolated sample alone.
Match foam to usage
A sofa seat, back cushion, office chair, mattress layer and packaging insert do not require the same response. Explain the expected load and frequency of use so the range can be narrowed sensibly.
Plan sheets and cutting
Provide finished sizes, quantities and acceptable cutting allowance. Efficient sheet planning can reduce waste, particularly for repeated cushions or production runs.

Which PU foam density is suitable for sofa seating?
There is no single density for every sofa. Cushion thickness, firmness preference, seat support, expected usage and budget should be considered together. Share the construction details for a practical recommendation.
Do you supply PU foam in different thicknesses?
Yes, multiple density and thickness options can be discussed subject to current availability. Send the required sheet or finished-cut dimensions and quantity.
Which Relaxwell foam grades do you keep in stock?

Is higher-density foam always harder?
No. Density and firmness are separate properties. A higher-density foam is not automatically harder, so both the specification and intended comfort should be evaluated.
